Painting Postcards
In another bout of summer creativity, I’ve taken to painting/penciling postcard versions of some of my favorite photo shots. So far, I’ve made cards featuring the sunset in Pinole and the lighthouse at Point Reyes.
I used to dislike the watercolor aesthetic for some reason, but I’ve grown fond of it. I didn’t do real watercolor for these postcards, though – I used Watercolor pencils from Prismacolor which give you the watercolor effect (with the aid of a water-dipped paintbrush), without actually using paint.
On a completely unrelated note: does anyone else suffer from incredibly long periods of procrastination when writing cards/letters to friends and family? No? Just me? Alright. I’ll just be here, taking months to write things that take only a few hours… 🙂
Happy creating! 🙂
